| If you use shape3d change the amount of light,light direction or ambient light. OR Create your image. Select the part you want with light. duplicate layer use brightness to lighten it ctrl I to invert selection go to bottom layer darken the bottom part change layer mode to darken for 2nd layer merge it Use gaussian blur at about 10-20 so the dark and the light areas merge and looks realistic. I used 10 in this example but about 15 is better. and if you want it more realistic, pick a small circle in the lightened area and increase the brightness so it looks like the light is focused there. Its a 2d picture so shadow is hard. | |

| It seems that this process can be easily done using gimp(or photoshop), lighting effects. | |
